A Look Back: Bush Endorses Reagan
George H.W. Bush Endorses Ronald Reagan Before Being Selected as Vice President in the 1980 Republican Convention

I recalled the speech at the 1980 Republican Convention made by George H.W. Bush who had challenged Ronald Reagan in the presidential campaign. He stayed in the race for a good deal of time. He had suspended his campaign. When he was invited to the 1980 Convention to endorse Ronald Reagan, he did not know who then Governor Reagan would select as Vice President.
