Back to Sardinia by Ferry
Seventh in a series on our travels in Sardinia and Corsica
We headed out early to the ferry in Bonifacio for our departure back to Sardinia. Great care was taken to pack the Porsches all together inside the vessel, allowing us to depart together.
Our guides promised a unique stop for lunch and they did not disappoint.
We traveled into the center of Sardinia, to a remote location where we found the Gallivant Stazzo Retreat, a development conceived of and developed by a professional golfer who, when I asked why, said simply, “…the land here spoke to me.”
He has in just the past three or four years turned the location into a kind of Italian oasis with cork trees, an incredible pizza oven, bars in caves and fine dining as well as lodging. It was amazing at every turn….
We could not have been in a more relaxing place!
Rested, we returned to the drive through back roads, going southeast of Olbia. Our destination for the evening was the resort, Baglioni Resort Sardinia. Probably the most modern in our travels, it was strikingly beautiful.
It provided another grand dining experience with elegant relaxation! And, the significance of the mountain above is that it would be our next destination!
