From & Fuller / What's the Senate to Do?
They will come back from the Memorial Day recess to focus on the Budget
The Budget Reconciliation process, while the House vote was widely celebrated, has really only just begun. The Senate with its 53 member Republican majority must now produce a Budget Bill, and it can’t be too far away from what the House passed. If the Senate can manage to bring together the votes needed, then a Conference Committee will be formed to work out differences before sending the new bill to both the House and Senate for final passage.
Trouble is, there are very few paths to success if the Congress is going to try and do this only with Republican votes.
This was our main topic of discussion when Dave Wheelan at the Spy, Al From and I got together earlier today. And, then there is the matter of the pardons. Good grief!
